Te Hāpua Wetlands

Kāpiti Coast, Wellington-Wairarapa

Te Hāpua Glamping is set on the coastal dune zone on the Kāpiti Coast, close to Te Horo Beach, and just 1 hour from Wellington City.

Perfect for a couple's escape, the Te Hāpua Wetlands Tent, sleeping up to five, is also the ideal family or group accommodation in a very special setting. The tent sits next to a wetland lake - one of New Zealand's rarest and most precious ecosystems and recognised locally as an area of special significance. For couples looking to escape, we also recommend checking out the sister property,Te Hāpua Coastal.

Decked out with a luxurious 4-poster queen bed, a bunk room containing 3 single beds, and lots of comfortable seating - everything has been thought of for comfortable glamping. A spacious verandah to the front of the tent is a great gathering space for socialising and watching the wetland wildlife in comfort.

The property is 700 m from the beach access and 1 km from the water's edge. Head down for a swim and some beach action or enjoy a gentle walk at sunset. If you want to go further afield, check out some of the local activities - there's horse riding, bush walking at Otaki Forks, or bird-watching at the Nga Manu Nature Reserve.

In the evening, kick back, relax, and jump in the hot tub (big enough for the whole family) for some soaking and stargazing.

“ From the moment we stepped out of the car, we were welcomed by birdsong. The tent is beautifully positioned in front of a peaceful wetland pond that’s alive with wildlife. A truly stunning location with a picture-perfect view. The walk to the beach was just as gorgeous, taking us along a quiet country road before opening out to a vast, unspoiled stretch of coastline. Communication with Kelly and Charlie was effortless. They were responsive, helpful, and kind. We highly recommend staying here for anyone seeking peace, beauty, and a connection with nature. ”
