Eating and Drinking

EATING AND DRINKING

Te Hapua Glamping is self-catering. Just bring your own food and cook meals using the gas Weber BBQ and equipment provided in your private camp kitchen. You'll find all the cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, and utensils that you'll need. There is a Nespresso machine so if you like a good coffee bring som Nespresso pods along with you.

If you want a break from cooking at any stage and feel like a meal out, check out The Salt and Wood Collective (great craft beer) or Hey Coastie nearby in the Waikanae area (6 minutes drive or a 20-minute cycle down the beach).

The Bus Stop Cafe at Te Horo beach is a great place to grab a coffee and a scone.

The nearest supermarket is in Waikanae, 6-minutes drive away.

Things to Do

THINGS TO DO

Te Hāpua Glamping offers plenty of fun to keep you entertained during your stay. From soaking in the hot tub and taking in the Kapiti Island sunset view to toasting marshmallows on the brazier in the evening - you'll find it hard to tear yourselves away.

The beach access is just a 10-minute walk down a safe country road - great for swimming and walking the dog.

The local area has plenty to keep you busy too! Swim at the nearby beaches, check out the outlet shops in Otaki - or get into nature. Nga Manu Nature Reserve is just down the road in Waikanae and Otaki Forks has some great short bush walks to enjoy.

Your Hosts

YOUR HOSTS

Your Hosts at Te Hāpua, Charlie and Kelly Meyer and their three kids George, Harvey and Rosa have lived on their coastal property for three years, and have been on the Kapiti Coast since 2006.

Charlie was formally in the sports retail industry and Kelly is a Registered nurse. The boys are both at secondary school and Rosa goes to the local primary school in Te Horo.

The whole family love the outdoors and all five have contributed to the ideas and concepts that have now become Te Hāpua Glamping.

They are very proud of what they have created on their land on the Kapiti Coast and look forward to sharing their unique piece of paradise with you.

TESTIMONIALS

“ I wanted to go away with my husband and two kids, somewhere peaceful and almost off grid. It was the perfect place for this. We went walking around the farm each day, went in the hot tub and chilled on our one rainy day on the deck. It got a little bit loud when it was windy at night, but that's all part of the fun of camping or glamping. It was a beautiful place to stay – my kids didn't want to leave. And the electric blankets on all the beds were a nice added bonus. ”

“ A beautiful, relaxing spot. My husband and ten-year-old son spent a night here and it was absolutely amazing. It was clean, the facilities were great and it was a lovely, magical place. The hot tub was fantastic and we even went for a walk to collect pinecones for the fire to roast our marshmallows. The hosts were super lovely too. I would absolutely recommend this site to anybody wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. ”

“ From the moment we stepped out of the car, we were welcomed by birdsong. The tent is beautifully positioned in front of a peaceful wetland pond that’s alive with wildlife. A truly stunning location with a picture-perfect view. The walk to the beach was just as gorgeous, taking us along a quiet country road before opening out to a vast, unspoiled stretch of coastline. Communication with Kelly and Charlie was effortless. They were responsive, helpful, and kind. We highly recommend staying here for anyone seeking peace, beauty, and a connection with nature. ”
