The nearest store for stocking up on food and supplies is in Ōmakau, 15 minutes away.

Things to Do

THINGS TO DO

Unwind with classic outdoor games like cornhole by the brazier, or gather inside for board games and cards as the fire crackles. Soak in the outdoor bath under starlit skies, letting the day's adventures melt away.

Cast a line in the nearby Dunstan River or take a refreshing summer dip in its cool waters. Wander along peaceful riverside trails through golden tussock and native grasses, where time slows to the rhythm of nature. Simply savour the silence of this beautiful high country.

Your Hosts

YOUR HOSTS

Your hosts at St Bathans Views are Stacey and Paul.

Stacey and Paul, along with their children Zac, Ollie, and Grace, plus Jack Russell Vinnie and Labrador Frank, have called this stunning corner of Central Otago home for nearly a decade.

Paul works the farm while Stacey juggles life as mum, barista, part-time wool store worker, and chief taxi driver for the kids. Inspired by friends who'd embraced glamping, they created St Bathans Views as both an additional farm income and a passion project.

The name celebrates the ever-changing vistas of Mt St Bathans and Dunstan Peak. It's a daily reminder of why they cherish this slow-paced, history-rich landscape and its dramatic four seasons.

“ What a spot! This was a magical birthday weekend away in paradise. Peaceful, stunning and so well thought out. Loved the vistas, the games provided, the remoteness, the welcome wine and chocolate, and the proximity to St Bathans. We've had so many friends see our photos and ask for the details to book. A beautiful place to spread the word about! ”

“ Beautiful and private setting, we were able to bring our fur-child and felt they were safe and had an enjoyable time also. Reminded me of the huts I grew up with on my own family farm, it felt like home. ”

“ We stayed at St Bathans Views with my two young adult sons and it was absolutely magical. The huts are beautifully designed, peaceful and surrounded by the most stunning scenery. We swam in the crystal-clear creek, relaxed, played chess and genuinely felt completely immersed in nature. At one point one of my sons said, “This is what I imagine heaven is like” — and we’re not even religious! It was incredible value for money and one of the most special places we’ve ever stayed. We loved every moment and would return in a heartbeat. ”

“ Well set up facilities with a gorgeous outlook. Super happy to be able to take our child and dogs, with the river a short walk away for cooling down on hot days. ”

“ When we arrived at our accommodation, we felt welcomed instantly. There was a bottle of wine and block of chocolate on the table, and a dog toy sitting outside on a dog bed; such a thoughtful gesture. The huts have a warm, cozy homely feel with soft furnishings and décor. The place is well equipped and even the little things had been thought of; like bug spray etc. The creek is a gorgeous wee spot to bathe in on a hot day, unfortunately the weather didn’t allow us to do this. The outside bath was fun and the brazier is a pretty epic treat. ”
