Eating and Drinking

EATING AND DRINKING

Shortlands Shed Manuka Views is self-catering. Just bring your own food, and cook meals using the facilities provided in your covered, outdoor kitchen. You'll find all the cutlery, crockery, pots and pans that you'll need.

If you want a break from cooking at any stage, Naseby is just 10kms away and has several cafes and restaurants to choose from.

A supermarket for stocking up on supplies can be found at Ranfurly, 24kms from the shed.

Things to Do

THINGS TO DO

Rejuvenate on the property with a soak in the fresh mountain water in the wood-fired cedar hot tub. Enjoy the high country scenery and peaceful surrounds.

Explore the property on foot. Climb the surrounding hills and take in the amazing high country views (although note that walking on the property may be more restricted during lambing season in Oct/Nov). Discover the historic gold tailings and try your hand at gold panning down at the creek.

Bring your mountain bikes! The Naseby area is renowned for its mountain biking tracks and Shortlands Station is only a 20 min drive to the famous Central Otago Rail Trail.

Naseby itself is just 10km away. You'll find cafes and restaurants along with some fun and novel activities. Give 'curling' or ice skating a go - or get the adrenaline pumping with a go on the Southern Hemisphere's only ice luge.

TESTIMONIALS

“ Our stay at Manuka View at Shortlands Station was outstanding. We loved the peace and quiet; the views were spectacular, and the facilities were outstanding. We felt completely relaxed and calm in our surroundings, and the best thing was the gorgeous night skies—the Milky Way, satellites, and to top it off, a shooting star. We cannot wait to go back and have recommended it to all our family and friends. Thanks Tash and Charles. ”

“ Our stay was epic! The hot tub at sunset, the views, the luxurious “shed”, we loved the design, and it was cozy and comfy. Tash was awesome with communication. Very grateful they created this beautiful place that we could stay at. Naseby and St Bathans are great places to explore, and the Dansey’s Pass Pub is so cool. But to come back to Shortlands Station to rest and relax is perfection. We will go back. ”

“ We stayed in their other property, Nobbler Creek, as it was snowing when we arrived. This cabin was fantastic. We were snowed in but could have stayed a week. The hot tub was amazing. Just turn on the tap and hey presto, it was filled in 20 minutes. The log burning stove made the space very cosy. I would go again. I could not rate this wonderful place too highly. Go if you can. ”
