Things to Do

THINGS TO DO

Cascadia is a place to take time out and relax. Tune into the white noise of the river rapids and birdsong above. Swim in the river, toast marshmallows on the brazier - and enjoy a long, hot soak in the wood-fired outdoor bath (as long as there is no fire ban during your visit).

Battle it out over a board game or enjoy some peaceful mindfulness with the colouring-in books provided.

If you'd like to venture out and about, visit the local farmers' markets or book a vineyard lunch and tasting of the Wairarapa's renowned pinot noir wines.

Visit the beautiful Queen Elizabeth Park in Masterton for mini golf, miniature train rides, croquet, animal parks, and bike hire. There are also pop-up food trucks on Saturdays 10am - 2pm. Learn about Māori artefacts and admire the beautiful contemporary artwork at Aratoi Museum.

The famous Northern Tararua Ranges Crossing entrance is 700 metres away from Cascadia - perfect for keen hikers!

“ We absolutely loved our stay at The Glade! Rose and Dan were so kind, responsive, and helpful; they wanted to make sure we made the most of our time there. The location was sublime, close to amazing hikes that we could access without a car, and swimming spots we could have a dip in! But the best part was relaxing in the cottage (or the White Noise Nook) with a book, absolute heaven! We can't recommend The Glade enough; we hope to be back one day! ”
